Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial Chronometer 600 m, circa 2005. Automatic movement with co-axial escapement, chronometer-certified. Steel case, 42 mm diameter, signed screw-down crown, helium escape valve at 10 o'clock. Unidirectional rotating bezel with orange aluminum insert graduated to 60 minutes. Black dial, orange Arabic numerals at 12, 9 and 6 o'clock, luminescent indexes and hands with black outlines, date window at 3 o'clock. Sapphire crystal. Omega leather strap and signed deployant buckle.

Watchmaking Context

The Seamaster was introduced by Omega in 1948, inheriting from the waterproof wristwatches delivered to the Royal Air Force during World War II. The line evolved over the decades towards ever-deeper water resistance. The Seamaster Planet Ocean series was launched in 2005 as the deep-diving branch, distinct from the Seamaster Diver 300M, and adopted the aesthetic codes of the original 1957 Seamaster 300 — Arabic numerals at 12, 9 and 6, applied indexes, and a seconds hand with a colored tip. 600-meter water resistance, helium escape valve, and especially the Caliber 2500 with co-axial escapement — the George Daniels technology adopted by Omega from 1999, which marked the brand's return to mechanical haute horlogerie.
