Identity

Chopard Haute-Joaillerie, Lady, Ref. 10/4439, 1980s. Manual-winding mechanical movement. 18-carat yellow gold navette case, 19 × 23 mm, twisted gold bezel set with diamonds. Mother-of-pearl dial, four diamond indexes, gilt hands. Sapphire crystal. Multi-strand twisted seed-pearl bracelet, strap terminals and bow-shaped clasp in gold paved with diamonds.

Horological context

Founded in 1860 in Sonvilier, in the Swiss Jura, by Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the house passed in 1963 to the Scheufele family, who drove its modern rise: jewellery, Happy Diamonds watches and a movement manufacture in Fleurier. Based in Geneva since 1937, Chopard found in Karl Scheufele, a goldsmith and watchmaker from Pforzheim, the man who made the jewellery watch the heart of its production. The house opened its workshops in Meyrin, near Geneva, in 1974, and by the early 1980s was making some 18,000 jewellery watches a year between Geneva and Pforzheim.

Character

The gold twist is more than a bezel decoration: like a rope, it encircles the mother-of-pearl dial and holds it taut between the two strap terminals, themselves richly paved and bound by the same twist. The motif carries on to the bow-shaped clasp, worked with the same care. A jewel before it is a watch, this pearl bracelet uses the time as its alibi.

Serviced by Chopard in May 2026. Very good condition. Delivered with the brand box, the Chopard service card with a 12-month warranty on the work, and one additional year of Contre-Temps warranty.
