Steel case with reversible 18K yellow gold carriage, 20 × 33 mm, fluted gold crown. Monochrome silver dial, Arabic numerals, railroad minute track, blued sword hands. Sapphire crystal. Leather strap, signed steel folding clasp.
Horological Context
La Reverso was created in 1931, designed for British officers playing polo in India: its case slides and flips over in its cradle to protect the glass from shocks. The design, with its rectangular lines and three gadroons framing the dial, is a pure expression of the Art Deco style. Produced for a time then relaunched in the 1980s, the Reverso has become one of Jaeger-LeCoultre's emblems, available in many sizes, from the Lady model to grand complications, and coats of arms, initials, or enamels are engraved on its blank back.Personality
