Custom mauve dial with applied steel baton indexes and steel hands, date aperture at 3 o'clock with Cyclops lens. Plexiglas crystal. Leather strap with steel pin buckle.

Horological context

Oyster Precision designates, at Rolex, the manual-winding line, a direct evolution of the 1926 Oyster. The Oyster case is generally in steel, 34 mm in diameter, with a screw-down crown, plexiglas crystal, and 50-metre water resistance. The qualifier Precision on the dial carries a double meaning in Rolex nomenclature: it indicates a manual-winding movement, by contrast with Perpetual which designates the automatic movement; it also indicates the absence of COSC chronometer certification, by contrast with the Officially Certified Chronometer or Superlative Chronometer markings. Ref. 6694 and Ref. 6494, produced from the 1950s through the early 1990s, integrate a date function at 3 o'clock under the name Oysterdate Precision. Ref. 6426 carries a no-date dial. These models are equipped with calibres 1210 or 1225 depending on the period.
