Horological context
The Museum Collection gathers the limited re-editions Omega draws from the pieces held at its museum in Bienne: each model takes up the design of an archival timepiece and gives it a contemporary movement. The Petrograd is the fourth in the series. It pays tribute to a 1915 tonneau watch made for the Russian market — Omega named it after Petrograd, as St. Petersburg was renamed in 1914. The design revives its codes: tonneau case with hinged lugs, elongated Art déco Arabic numerals, railway minute track, small seconds. The edition is limited to 1,915 pieces, echoing the original year, and driven by the automatic calibre 2200.
