Identity

Rolex Precision watch-jewel with cover, 18K white gold and diamonds, 1950s. Manual winding mechanical movement. White gold case, 17 mm diameter, crown on the side, dial concealed under a diamond-set cover, diamond-set lugs. Off-white dial signed Rolex Precision, applied indexes, dauphine hands. Mineral crystal. Chevron-woven two-strand white gold bracelet, clasp monogrammed with the Rolex crown with safety chain.

Watchmaking Context

At Rolex, the mention Precision refers to manual winding watches, excluding chronometer certification — a lineage that was among the most sought-after by the house in the 1950s and 1960s. Alongside the men's models, Rolex produced a more discreet feminine version of the Precision. In the 1940s and 1950s, a jewelry vein was added: small cocktail watches in precious metal, whose dial was sometimes concealed under an opening cover, set with diamonds and mounted on a woven gold bracelet. Hand-assembled, these pieces are among the last Rolex watches entirely crafted by hand. Watchmaking then extended a hand to jewelry.

Personality

The opening cover, hinged, conceals the dial under a scattering of diamonds forming a five-pointed star around a central stone. The transition to the bracelet is made on either side of the case by diamond bouquet lugs. Woven with two chevron strands of white gold, the bracelet remains supple and fluid on the wrist; it closes with a ladder clasp stamped with the Rolex crown, reinforced by a safety chain.

Watch serviced. Very good condition with patina. Delivered with the brand's box and the 12-month Contre-Temps warranty certificate.
