Extra-flat round platinum case, 34 mm diameter, tapered lugs, Maltese cross crown. White porcelain dial, black Roman numerals, railway minute track, Maltese cross at 12 o'clock, two baton hands. Sapphire crystal. Black alligator strap signed Vacheron Constantin, signed Maltese cross pin buckle in platinum.

Watchmaking Context

Founded in Geneva in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron, Vacheron Constantin is the oldest watchmaking manufacture in continuous operation; its association with François Constantin in 1819 gave it its current name. Its emblem, the Maltese cross adopted in 1880, takes its shape from a movement component that limited the tension of the mainspring. The house has long distinguished itself in dress watches and ultra-thin watchmaking: from the mid-20th century, its "smoking" timepieces — sleek round cases, sober dials with Roman numerals or baton indices — relied on some of the thinnest manual and automatic calibers ever built, including the famous 1003. This tradition continues today in the Patrimony and Les Historiques collections, distinguished by the Geneva Seal.

Personality

The composition is based on balance. A railway minute track inscribes a clear circle at the edge of the dial; inside, elongated Roman numerals radiate towards the center, whose disc remains empty. The baton hands, without counterweight or flourish, complete a reading reduced to the essential — geometry served by the white of the enamel and the cool gleam of platinum.

Watch serviced. Very good condition. Delivered with the brand's box and the Contre-Temps 24-month warranty certificate.
