Identity

Alain Silberstein iKrono ("left-handed"), automatic chronograph ca. 2010 with Valjoux 7750 calibre. Square titanium case with black PVD coating, 47 mm, crown and pushers at 9 o'clock, screw-down sapphire display back. Internal yellow tachymetre scale. Black dial, Silberstein signature hands — red triangle, blue arrow, yellow serpentine — and chronograph counters at 12 and 6 o'clock, small seconds at 3 o'clock, date aperture at 9 o'clock with "smiley" for the day of the week. Sapphire crystal. Black Alain Silberstein leather strap with signed pin buckle. Original water resistance 10 bar.

Horological context

Alain Silberstein founded his eponymous brand in Besançon in 1987. An interior architect trained at a Paris art school grounded in Bauhaus principles, he introduced into watchmaking a graphic palette without parallel: primary geometry — circle, triangle, square — and primary colours — red, blue, yellow. Standing apart from the trade's conservative codes, this approach earned him the reputation of watchmaking's enfant terrible and a lasting succès d'estime among collectors. The iKrono is his chronograph series, each variant produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces and made in France. The Montre de Gaucher (left-handed) inverts the canonical chronograph layout for wearers favouring the right wrist. The maison closed in 2012, sealing the production of each reference and turning original iKrono pieces into sought-after collector items.

Character

Numbered 038/500. The brand's signature character appears in the date aperture at 9 o'clock, a playful flourish typical of Silberstein's hand.

Watch serviced. Excellent condition. Delivered with its original Alain Silberstein box and papers, and Contre-Temps two-year warranty.
