Cartier Tank Mini Ref. 11410, 1990s. Quartz movement, mineral crystal. 18k gold case, dimensions 25 × 18 mm, crown set with a cabochon diamond. Brancards on each side of the dial set with diamonds. White dial, black Roman numerals, railway minute track, blued steel sword hands. Black Cartier alligator strap and 18k gold folding clasp signed.
Horological Context
The Tank was created by Louis Cartier in 1917 and presented in Paris in 1919 — a rectangular case articulated on two side brancards, a design inspired, according to the brand's tradition, by the Renault FT tanks deployed on the Somme front. Geometry became Cartier's absolute signature: the brancards extend the lugs, the dial is set within a frame whose shape is itself the decoration. Throughout the 20th century, the lineage evolved — Tank Cintrée in 1921, Tank Louis Cartier in 1922, Tank Américaine in 1989, Tank Française in 1996 — but the Tank Louis Cartier remains the parent version, true to the proportions of the original. The Tank Mini adopts these codes in a reduced format, designed for the feminine wrist.
