Watchmaking Context
Cartier established its Maison at 13 rue de la Paix in Paris in 1899, a stone's throw from Place Vendôme, from which the watch collection took its name in the late 70s. The Vendôme distinguishes itself from the Tank and the Panthère by a round case, extended vertically by two T-lugs that pinch the bracelet—a visible articulation, inherited from jewelry tradition and designed to integrate with the flexible gold bracelets crafted on rue de la Paix. The Vendôme Lady variation adopts these codes in 20 and 24 mm formats, in yellow, white, rose gold, or in intertwined triple gold—a reference to Louis Cartier's Trinity ring, launched in 1924 and now one of the house's emblems.
