Brushed steel Luminor case, 44 mm, signature crown-protection bridge, brushed steel rotating compass bezel engraved N/E/S/W, solid case back engraved in relief with the North Pole map and Mike Horn's signature. Navy blue dial, luminous applied Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o'clock, luminous baton indexes, small seconds at 9 o'clock, date aperture at 3 o'clock, 24-hour GMT scale on the periphery. Sapphire crystal. Brown alligator strap with white saddle stitching and signed steel pin buckle. Original water resistance 300 metres. Amagnetic.

Horological context

Panerai has maintained a sustained partnership with explorer Mike Horn since the early 2000s, who has become one of the brand's emblematic ambassadors. The Luminor North Pole GMT Ref. PAM00252, introduced in 2006, commemorates Horn's North Pole expedition that year alongside Norwegian explorer Børge Ousland: sixty days on skis without dogs or motorised support, crossing the Arctic polar night. The piece integrates the constraints of the terrain into its design: a soft iron cage against magnetic fields, a specific lubricant to operate in extreme cold, 300-metre water resistance, and a rotating compass bezel engraved N/E/S/W allowing orientation by the sun. The case back reproduces in relief the North Pole map with latitudes from 75°N to 90°N, Cape Arctichesky and Mike Horn's signature. The reference was produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces.
